St. Barts, or St. Barthelemy as it is officially known, is another enchanting destination in the Caribbean. The island is a very popular port of call among crusie ships. It is also a popular island among the rich and famous because of its incredibly stunning beaches, mouthwatering cuisine, excellent shopping and luxurious accommodations. So, whether you are only dropping by for a short shore excursion or staying for a full-blown vacation, you will be thrilled with all things this amazing destination has to offer. 

Gustavia is the island's capital town. With its scenic location and a sheltered harbor many visitors find it a great place to escape. If you stroll along its U-shaped waterfront you will come across the many beautiful yachts, ships while you gaze out to sea. If you are looking to do some shopping then head to Rue de la Republique and find dozens of duty-free shops selling your favorite product from signature jewelry to top-of-the-line electronics. Also, since the island is known to have many celebrities vacationing you might want to just pick a strategic spot in the long line of Al-fresco cafes and restaurants and do some "people-watching". Who knows, you just might catch sight your favorite celebrity.

If you want to do some sightseeing then a visit to the harbor's west side is worthwhile. There, you will discover an 1800s Swedish Wall House that is now home to a charming restaurant. Nearby is Musee Territorial with its interesting exhibits of maps, tools and what-not from St. Barts colorful past. You might also want to pick up a couple of brochures which you will find around town and choose a private guided tour or attraction. 

Continue on your way until you reach the southern part of town where centuries old churches of St. Bartholomew and the Notre Dame de l'Assomption can be found. Head westward and you will soon find yourself on the enchanting beach of Anse de Grands Galets or Shell Beach where you can spend hours searching for seashells or you can just sit back, relax and marvel at the pinkish-hued shore. 

Fort Gustave is also a popular site to visit. There you can hang-out and appreciate the gorgeous views among the ruins. But, if you are looking for awe-inspiring panoramas, then make sure to climb the crimson lighthouse for a breathtaking view of Gustavia. 

Note that though there are many beaches to choose from in St. Barts, If you want your beach getaway to be only seconds away from your hotel room, then the Grand Cul de Sac is the perfect location for you. But, if you are looking for a more local vibe, then the fishing village of Corossol is the way to go. For those of you who are surfers Surfing enthusiasts, will probably want to stay closer to Anses des Cayes beach. While those who value tranquility will find a beautiful haven in the palm-fringed Marigot Beach or at the remote Gouverneur Beach. St. Barts has a little bit for everyone to make them happy. If you want to have an extra special getaway, St. Barts will definitely live up to your expectations.
