If you are looking for more animal encounter then visit El Refugio de Potosi where you can get up close and personal with iguanas, various species of birds and butterflies. You can also climb up its observation tower and gain a panoramic view of Ixtapa from 50 feet above ground. If you want to try zip lining then head to Parque Aventura for an entire day's fun and excitement. Your day there will be filled with zip lines, paintball games and rope ladders, among others.

Ixtapa is also home to world-class golf courses. For the golf lovers it is recommended that you visit Palma Real Golf Course. It is not only an outstanding Robert Trent Jones, Jr. creation but also serves as a verdant home for various species of wildlife, birds in particular. The Marina Ixtapa Golf Club is also worth a visit for its varied terrain of dunes and inlets. Also, as a side note, Ixtapa has great excursions in sports fishing. You might want to pick up a couple of brochures and choose the one that fits your needs best. Whether you are an angler or a deep sea fisherman, you are surely going to hit jackpot in the area. You can charter a boat for your fishing trip or you can always join a tour for fishing excursions. No matter what you choose, you will definitely enjoy your time in Ixtapa.
